- The Podravje PGI wine region extends across north-eastern Slovenia from the eastern edge of Pohorje to the Lendava Hills, and from the Austrian border to the Croatian border.
- Climate
- The Podravje PGI area has a moderate Pannonian climate with cold winters, relatively dry summers, a favourable annual rainfall distribution, and large day-to-night temperature differences.
- Soils
- The Podravje PGI area includes pseudogley and acidic brown soils on Pleistocene and Pliocene clays and gravel, plus ranker and skeletal acidic brown soils on acidic Pohorje rocks.
